You can make a Difference!
Paper Recycling is easy and rips apart the load on the landfill
According to the EPA, we generated approximately 254 million tons of municipal solid waste (MSW) in 2007. Paper and paperboard made up the largest component of MSW generated (32.7 percent) - that’s over 83 million tons of paper! As a nation we recovered just over 54 percent of that paper, or 45 million tons. .
Do you remember how heavy your boxes of books were the last time you moved? Books are heavy! Paper is heavy! Paper recycling is easy and good for the environment.
To make one ton of new paper requires the cutting down of 24 trees. When we recycle a ton of paper we can save enough electricity to power the average American home for six months, save 7,000 gallons of water and over 3.3 cubic yards of landfill space. Use that paper recycle box and we can make a difference!
